Ambassador Acharya presents letters of credence



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 13 March 2019) – Nilamber Acharya, has presented his letters of credence accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at a special programme organised at Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, on Wednesday afternoon.

During a meeting following the presentation of credentials, Indian President Kovind welcomed and congratulated Acharya as Ambassador of Nepal to India. He mentioned about the age-old relationship between the two countries and the people. 

On the occasion, Ambassador Acharya conveyed cordial greeting and best wishes from President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli as well as from the people of Nepal for the personal health and happiness of the President and continued progress and prosperity of the people of India, reads a press release issued by Nepali Embassy in New Delhi. 

Ambassador Acharya expressed that he would make, during his tenure, sincere efforts in promoting age-old, close and multidimensional ties subsisting between the two countries for the benefits of the two countries.

He also expressed his happiness over the achievements made by India over the years and shared that Nepal, as a close neighbour of India, would benefit from India’s achievement in various fields. 

Moreover, Ambassador Acharya mentioned that with the political stability in Nepal following the promulgation of the constitution and last year’s elections, Nepal would now focus on economic development and prosperity, added the press release. 

Nepal’s motto is Sambriddha Nepal Sukhi Nepali (Prosperous Nepal Happy Nepali), Ambassador Acharya underscored. 

Indian President Kovind asked Ambassador Acharya to convey his greetings and best wishes to the President and the Prime Minister of Nepal and the Nepali people. 

Ambassador Acharya reached New Delhi to assume his responsibility on February 18, 2019.
