Army chief Chhetri to visit China



coasKATHMANDU, March 25 (Xinhua) — Nepalese Chief of the Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri will pay an official visit to China from March 27, a spokesman at the army said here on Friday.
The six-day visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations of armies of the two neighboring countries, Spokesman at the Nepalese army Tara Bahadur Karki told Xinhua.
This will be the first visit of the Nepalese army chief to China after he assumed office last year.
Earlier in July 2013, then Chief of Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher Rana paid a 10-day official visit to China.
It has been a tradition that the Nepalese army chief visits neighboring countries after assuming office, the spokesman added.
Chhetri had paid an official visit to India two months ago.
