Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 19 August 2018)- A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today appointed the Acting Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa as the Chief of Army Staff.
According to government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Gokul Prasad Banskota, the cabinet meeting held at Singh Durbar took a decision to this effect. The government on July 27 had recommended Lt. Gen. Purna Chandra Thapa as the Acting Chief of Army Staff.
