Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 13 August ) – India on Sunday said it has opened all doors of Koshi, Gandak and Rapti barrages following the request of the Nepal government.
Indian Embassy informed through tweet that all gates of Koshi barrages on Indian side are open. ”All gates on barrages of Kosi, Gandak & Rapti rivers on Indian side are open.” read the tweet.
Nepal government on Saturday requested Indian government to open all the doors of Koshi barrage to prevent further damage caused by swollen Koshi river.According to the Embassy, External Affairs Minister of India Shushma Swaraj on Sunday held telephonic conversation with Nepali counterpart Krishna Bahadur Mahara on flood situation and assured all support to Nepal.
