Meeting on integration of Nepal-India LoEs from today



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 17 March 2019) – A meeting relating to the integration of bilateral letter of exchange (LoE) made at different times between Nepal and India is taking place in New Delhi today.

The integration aims to make the Nepal-India transit management uncomplicated. The two-day joint-secretary level meeting beginning from today will discuss the issues about the transport of goods by ship, unification of the LoEs, management of goods of huge quantity, operation of the Mundra Port ( Udisha) and Dharmra Port ( Gujarat) and water way.

Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Rabishankar Sainju is leading the nine-member delegation to the meeting. The team had reached New Delhi Yesterday.

Joint secretaries from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal’s consul general for Kolkata and joint-secretary at the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi will be in the delegation.
