Nepal strongly condemns terrorist attack in Paris



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, Nov 14) – The Government of  Nepal has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in multiple venues in Paris, France, that took place yesterday evening.

President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari has sent a message of condolences to the French President, His Excellency Mr. François Hollande. In her message the Rt. Honourable President has stated that the people and Government of Nepal stand by the people and Government of France in this hour of profound grief.

Similarly, Prime Minister  K.P. Sharma Oli has stated that this attack is not only on the French people, but also on the values of open, democratic and egalitarian society they have been espousing for several centuries. In a message he sent to the French President, François Hollande, Prime Minister has expressed his belief that such cowardly acts of terrorism can neither defeat such universal values nor dampen the spirit of French people.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs has also sent a message of condolences to his French counterpart Laurent Fabius. In his message, the Deputy Prime Minister has mentioned that in line with its principled position on terrorism, Nepal strongly condemns yesterday’s attacks.

As per the information received, all Nepalese living in Paris are safe, MoFA has said in press statement on Saturday.
