Nepali president leaves for India on 5-day visit



KATHMANDU, April 17 (Xinhua) — Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari left for India on Monday on a five-day visit at the invitation of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.

This is her first foreign trip after she assumed office in October 2015.

She leads a 34-member high-profile delegation on the tour, including Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat and other senior officials from the foreign ministry and the president’s office.

The Nepali president, during her trip, will meet Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
