Oli-Abbasi bilateral meeting concludes, agree to hold SAARC Summit at the earliest  



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 5 March 2018) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has arrived in Kathmandu for a two-day official visit on Monday.

Minister for Finance, Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada welcomed Prime Minister Abbasi at the VVIP lounge of Nepal International Airport.  He was offered a guard of honor at the Army Pavillion in Tundikhel at 5 pm.

Prime Minister Abbasi is first head of state\gov, who was offered a guard of honour at Army Pavillion in Tundikhel. Such honour to the previously  at the airport.

According to the sources, the  guard of honour ceremony was moved to Tundikhel from Airport under the direction of Prime Minister Oli.

Following the guard of honour, Prime Minister Oli and Prime Minister Abbasi held bilateral meetings. In the meeting, diverse issues of bilateral relations and move forward the SAARC process were discussed, Chief Advisor to Prime Minister Oli, Bishnu Rimal informed.

Pakistani Prime Minister Abbasi briefed that Pakistan was ready to hold the 19th Summit of SAARC and sought the help of Prime Minister Oli to start the SAARC process. Nepal is the current chair of SAARC.

Prime Minister Abbasi congratulated Oli for his election success and assumption of the high post and expressed that Pakistan was ready work with his government for the extension and promotion of bilateral relations.
