PM Oli grieves demise of India’s former foreign minister Swaraj



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 7 August 2019) – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed profound sorrow on the demise of India’s senior political leader and former Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj.

In his tweet today, the Prime Minister wrote, “Deeply shocked to learn of the passing away of Smt. Sushma Swaraj, a senior political leader of India and former External Affairs Minister. Heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the Government and people of India as well as to the bereaved family members. ”

The Prime Minister is presently in Singapore in course of medical treatment. Similarly, Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said he was saddened by untimely demise of former EAM of India Sushma Swaraj ji.

He extended deep condolences to the family, Government and people of India on the loss of a leader, as he described, with commitment, vision and spirituality. The foreign minister recalled that he had worked closely with her to strengthen bilateral ties when she held office. The former India’s foreign minister Swaraj, 67, who had a kidney transplant in 2016, died on Tuesday, following a cardiac arrest.
