Japan expresses deep concern over shortage of essential goods in Nepal

Nepal Foreign Affairs (Kathmandu, Nov 18)–Japan has expressed deep concern on the present shortage of essential materials, especially fuel and petroleum products is increasingly impacting on the daily lives of all the people living in Nepal.

“The fuel shortage is also preventing post-earthquake relief community including the international organizations and NGOs from effectively conducting their humanitarian activities towards the affected areas,” the Embassy of Japan said in a press statement.

Japan has hoped that the current difficult situation in Nepal to be resolved peacefully and in a way to foster cooperation, as well as mutual trust and understanding among all the parties concerned.

However, Japan has not precisely mentioned about India’s ongoing economic blockade on Nepal.
