Minister Pandey consults with ex-ambassadors on post quake reconstruction


IMG_1635The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday organized an interaction program with former foreign ministers and ambassadors on the role of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Nepalese missions abroad in the post earthquake reconstructions and rehabilitation.

While welcoming the participants, Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey said that all should be able to fulfill historic responsibility by contributing to the post-disaster reconstruction and rehabilitation campaign.

He further said that the adoption of a proper procedure and approach as well as a rigorous homework was a must for such an important national campaign, the press release issued by MOFA on has stated.

The participants highlighted the importance of garnering international cooperation and support in the reconstruction and rehabilitation works, and shared their views on mobilizing funds received from governmental, private and charity organizations; matters relating to external experts in rebuilding and reconstruction works; roles of the Nepalese missions abroad, Nepalese diasporas and NRNs; and the need for an enhanced support for Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund (PMDRF).
