Nepal to organize programs to mark 60th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations establishment



Flag-Pins-Japan-NepalKATHMANDU, Feb. 29 (Nepal Foreign Affairs)–The first meeting of the High-level Committee to Commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan held  under the Chairmanship of Foreign Minister Kamal Thapa on Monday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting extensively discussed about the selection of possible events to commemorate the occasion successfully.

Speaking on the program the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs said that the 60th Anniversary of Nepal-Japan relations would be organized with variety of programs by the Government organizations, private sector and friendship associations.

This Committee is mandated to select, implement and coordinatevarious commemorative programs and events of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan throughout the year 2016.  The members of High-level committee consist of the Secretaries of relevant ministries, former Ambassadors of Nepal to Japan, CEOs of relevant Boards, Japan experts, representatives of the apex bodies of Nepalese business associations,among others. Diplomatic relation between Nepal and Japan was established on 01 September1956.
