Army Chief Sharma meets Indian Ministers in Delhi



RSS (KATHMANDU, 11 November 2021) – Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma held separate meetings with Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister for External Affairs Subramaniam Jaishankar in New Delhi this afternoon.

COAS Sharma is currently on an official visit to India. During the meeting held at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, various issues of Nepal-India relations based on harmony, mutual trust and cooperation as well as issues of mutual interest were discussed.  “I am happy to welcome COAS Prabhuram Sharma. His visit underscores the closeness of our relationship, “the foreign minister tweeted. In the meeting with the Minister of Defense, training and capacity building of the Nepal Army, assistance in disaster management, assistance of the Nepal Army for various defense reserves, exchange of experts and trainers, joint visits at high level and operation level, joint disaster management were discussed.

The Chief of Army Staff also held bilateral talks with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval today. On the occasion, they exchanged views on issues of common security concern. Meanwhile, the National Defense College in New Delhi awarded Sharma the ‘Wall of Honor’ for his outstanding work in his field. Sharma is the first person to receive the honor. In 2013, the COAS had undergone defense training at the college.
