China expresses condolence over demise of Ex-PM Koirala (Press Release)


China flag newsOn February 9, 2016, the Rt. Hon. Mr. Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, sent a letter of condolence and sympathy to the Rt. Hon. Mr. Kamal Thapa, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Nepal, over the sudden passing away of the Rt. Hon. Sushil Koirala, former prime minister and party president of Nepali Congress Party.

Mr. Wang Yi said the Chinese side was sad to learn the unfortunate news of passing away of Sushil Koirala and expressed condolence over the death of Sushil Koirala. The Chinese side sent a message of sympathy to the family members of Sushil Koirala and people of Nepal at this time. Mr. Wang Yi said Sushil Koirala was a prominent political leader of Nepal, who was committed to developing a good Chinese and Nepali relationship of cooperation and friendship.

Early in the morning of February 9, Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Wu Chuntai went to the headquarters of Nepali Congress Party to pay tribute to the deceased former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress Party president Sushil Koirala.
