Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai called on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Saturday evening at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar.
The Prime Minister thanked the Chinese government and people for China’s ongoing support in the aftermath of the earthquake, Koirala’s Press Coordinator Prakash Adhikari said in a press statement.
“The Chinese government feels great to provide all support and assistance to Nepal at this great tragedy,” Ambassador Chuntai told the prime minister. The ambassador also informed that 48-Kilometer Araniko Highway, blocked following the landslide after the 7.6 magnitude earthquake, has come into operation since Thursday morning after the efforts of the Chinese team deployed from the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).
“We are ready to provide additional support to Nepal if requested by the Nepal government. Now the relief materials have started to arrive from China to quake victims,” the ambassador told during the meeting.
