Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 30 December, 2016) – China has agreed to provide a grant assistance of RMB Yuan I billion (approx. NRs. 15.7 billion) to Nepal for the implementation of Syaphrubesi-Rasuwagadi Highway Repair and Improvement , Upgrading and Renovation Project of Civil Service Hospital and other post-disaster Reconstruction Project agreed upon between the two Governments.
Issuing a press release on 29 December, Embassy of Nepal at Beijing said that the grant agreement was signed and exchanged by Leela Mani Poudel, Ambassador of Nepal to China and Zhang Xiangchen, Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce of China.
According to the release, the projects aim to improve the connectivity with China that would promote toursim, trade and investment, enhance the health care services and also improve the living conditions of the people in eartquake affected areas. The government of Nepal has expressed its sincere appreciation for the assistance and for the continued support in the socio-economic development of Nepal, the released mentioned.
