​​China’s Vice Foreign Minister Sun arriving Nepal today



KATHMANDU: Sun Weidong, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of China, is arriving in Nepal today to participate in the meeting of Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultative Mechanism.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his three-day official visit to Nepal, he will participate in the 16th meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultative Mechanism scheduled for June 25 in Kathmandu.

Sewa Lamsal, foreign secretary is leading the Nepalis delegation in the consultative mechanism meeting, accompanied by senior officials from various ministries. According to the Ministry, the discussions will focus on bilateral relations between Nepal and China, as well as areas of cooperation.

During his visit, Vice Foreign Minister Sun is also slated to hold separate courtesy meetings with President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He will depart for China on June 26.

With the change in the coalition partners in the government led by Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, China has shown its active diplomatic engagement with Nepal.
