KATHMANDU, Aug. 26 (Nepal Foreign Affairs)–Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has congratulated Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat on his assumption of office, on Friday.
Extending best wishes to Foreign Minister Mahat, the Chinese counterpart expressed his willingness to work together to further push forward the China-Nepal cooperation and everlasting friendship, the ministry said in a press statement.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Wu Chuntai, called on Foreign Minister Mahat at the latter’s office to hand over the congratulatory message.
China is the first country to wish Mahat on his assumption as the foreign minister. Similarly, the Chinese ambassador is the first foreign diplomat in Nepal to meet Mahat after his induction as the foreign minister.
