Chinese President Xi’s visit to Nepal on Saturday



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 9 October 2019) – Chinese President Xi Jinping is paying a state visit to Nepal from October 12 to 13, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs formally announced on Wednesday morning.

Xi is visiting Nepal at the friendly invitation of Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

During the visit, President Xi will meet with Bhandari and hold delegation level official talks with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, according to a press release issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. President Bhandari will host a banquet in honor of President Xi and the high-powered Chinese delegation, according to the ministry.

Following the talks between Oli and Xi, both the leaders will witness the signing of bilateral agreements and memorandam of understanding, the ministry stated.

Senior leaders of Nepal will call on President Xi during his sojourn in Kathmandu.

Chinese President Xi will directly fly to Kathmandu on Saturday afternoon from Chennai after concluding his two-day India visit.
