Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha leaving for China



KATHMANDU- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha is leaving here for Sichuan of China today, leading a seven-member Nepali delegation.

DPM Shrestha is flying to China at 11:20 tonight. Joint Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lok Bahadur Thapa, Joint Secretary of Home Affairs Rudra Devi Sharma, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Industry Mahesh Baral and DPM Shrestha’s Personal Secretary Suresh Kaji Shrestha and others are in the delegation.

DPM Shrestha’s secretariat said that he would attend the reception of the Western China International Fair on Wednesday. On Thursday, DPM Shrestha is scheduled to address the inaugural session of the Western China International Fair as a special guest and would visit the planning exhibition hall in Chengdu on Thursday afternoon and other events in Sichuan.

On the same day, DPM Shrestha would attend a dinner reception to be organized by the leaders of the Communist Party of China of Sichuan Province. Shrestha is scheduled to meet the leadership of Sichuan University on Friday and would address the students there.

On Friday afternoon, DPM Shrestha is expected to meet the officials of Sichuan Airlines and business leaders from the Sichuan Province. The DPM is expected to visit the reconstruction of the quake-damaged property in different areas in Sichuan on Saturday morning. He will travel to Chengdu on Saturday itself and return to Kathmandu on Sunday morning.
