Dialogue between the Nepal Army and the US Army completed

The dialogue was led by Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel on behalf of the Nepali Army and by Major General Christopher Smith, Deputy Chief of the Asia Pacific Command on behalf of the US Army.



KATHMANDU- The 4th edition of the Bilateral Dialogue between the Nepali Army and the United States Army has been completed on Wednesday.

According to the Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the dialogue which took place from March 27 was focused on continued cooperation in humanitarian aid and disaster relief, peace operations, training and expanding disaster management capacity.

The dialogue was led by Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel on behalf of the Nepali Army and by Major General Christopher Smith, Deputy Chief of the Asia Pacific Command on behalf of the US Army. The Nepali team comprises representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Defense while 22 representatives from the American team participated in the dialogue.

Meanwhile, US team leader Smith called on Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma. The Nepali Army believes that the talks and dialogues will help strengthen the harmonious bilateral relations between Nepal and the United States.
