DPM Singh in New York, address UNGA on oct 1



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, Sept. 25) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Prakash Man Singh arrived in New York in the afternoon today, leading a Nepalese delegation to the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The UNGA and the Summit for the adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda began from 25 September 2015.

The Deputy Prime Minister Singh,  Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, and other members of the delegation were received at the JFK International Airport by Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, Ms. Sewa Lamsal Adhikari, Deputy Permanent Representative, and other officials of the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations and the Consulate General of Nepal in New York.

They were received at the hotel by Dr. Arjun Kumar Karki, Ambassador of Nepal to the United States, Kali Prasad Pokharel, Ambassador of Nepal to Canada, Narayan Mainali, Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of Nepal in New York and other members of the Mission and the Consulate General.

Later in the afternoon today, the delegation was briefed on the programme of participation of Nepalese delegation at the UNGA and other high level events scheduled for the next two weeks in New York.

The  Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to address the Summit for the adoption of the Post-2015 Development Agenda tomorrow, 25 September 2015 and the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 01 October 2015.
