Election would be held on time : Prime Minister Oli



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 1 February 2021) – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the upcoming polls scheduled for April 30 and May 10 would not be changed since the Election Commission (EC) has already initiated preparations for polls.

Addressing inaugural ceremony of 220-132 KV Substation of power supply developed by Federal Government and Nepal Electricity Authority at Mithila Municipality in Dhanusha district on Monday, the PM urged one and all to work for polls preparations since election would be held on April 30 in Province 2.

On the occasion, the PM expressed his displeasure for portraying him as an anti-Madhesi by some groups. Saying that his government has developed roads, drainage and irrigation projects in Tarai-Madhesh, the PM also promised to irrigate the farms in Tarai by bringing the water of Koshi river. Similarly, PM Oli shared his satisfaction for the blacktop of 6-lane road from Janakpur to Dhalkebar.

On the occasion, PM Oli announced to visit Janakpur within some days for the operation of Janakpur-Jayanagar rail service. Nepal Electricity Authority’s Spokesperson Madan Timsina stated that the Dhalkebar Substation is the largest one among the operational substations in the country.
