Foreign Minister apprise parliament of his Europe visit

Nepal Foreign Affairs (2 August 2018) –  Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has said Nepal’s relations with Europe would play a significant role on Nepal’s development and prosperity.

Foreign Minister Gyawali said this while informing the House of Representatives about his recent visit to Portugal, Belgium and Luxemburg. He shared that discussions were held on expansion of Nepal’s trade and promotion of tourism, and bringing in more investment.

He reminded that the European countries were informed about Nepal’s need of foreign investment to elevate it to the status of developing country by 2022 from the current status of least developed country. Nepali ambassadors to the European countries were also directed to play an effective role to boost economic diplomacy, the Minister added.

During the gathering of the Non Resident Nepalis, he urged Nepali diaspora to cooperate from their sides for Nepal’s development and prosperity dream with the mobilization of knowledge and financial and technical resources. He argued that his visit would help expand Nepal-Europe relations.
