Foreign Minister Khadka meets Indian counterpart, discusses issues of common concern



RSS (KATHMANDU, 29 March 2022) – Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Narayan Khadka today held a meeting with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on the sidelines of the 18th Ministerial Meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi–Sectoral, Technical and Economic Cooperation. The Minister is presently in Sri Lanka in course of attending the BIMSTEC meeting.

During the meeting, the two discussed about issues relating to Nepal-India ties, mutual interests and common concerns, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Besides, the ministers held discussions about Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s official visit to India taking place from upcoming Friday, April 1.

Meanwhile, India’s Minister for External Affairs Jaishankar on a social site said that the meeting focused on promoting cooperation for India-Nepal connectivity, power trade, fertliser supplies, and on the energy and health sectors. As he said, they agreed to focus on taking forward the Ramayan circuit ahead.
