IFA Nepal and China Foreign Affairs University sign MoU in Beijing



ifa..Nepal Foreign Affairs (Kathmandu, Nov. 26)–Institute of Foreign Affairs of Nepal (IFA) and China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) signed an Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday.

Executive Director of IFA, Dr. Rishi Raj Adhikari and President of CFAU Dr. Qin Yaqing signed the MOU amid a ceremony held at the CFAU in Beijing. The MOU was signed in view of promoting and developing friendly relations in academic research, training and sharing of best practices between the two institutions.

The MOU is one of the events held while commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, the IFA said in a press release on Wednesday evening.

 

Under the provisions of the MOU, the two sides will cooperate in research studies and short-term and long-term trainings programmes to be chalked out in mutual consultation.

According to the IFA, the CFAU has agreed to assist IFA, within the framework of MOU, in capacity building and skills development of the new Foreign Service officers of Nepal. The CFAU and IFA have exchanged cooperation and maintained academic partnership for a long time.

According to CFAU, 28 Foreign Service officers from Nepal have completed various training and academic courses in their University. “The signing of the MOU has paved the way for further strengthening the cooperation and exchange in the future,” the statement said.

Prior to the signing of the MOU, Dr. Adhikari held a meeting with Dr. Wang Fan, Vice President of the CFAU and discussed various matters of mutual interest between the IFA and CFAU.

On the occasion, the two sides agreed to continue the existing exchange in the fields of training, academic discourses and research, among others. Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing Nirmal Raj Kafle was also present on the occasion.
