India appoints Naveen Srivastava as its new ambassador to Nepal



NFA (KATHMANDU, 17 May 2022) – Naveen Srivastava has been appointed India’s new ambassador to Nepal, Indian External Affairs Ministry has informed.

Issuing a press release, MEA has said, ”Shri Naveen Srivastava (IFS:1993), presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Nepal”.

According to the MEA, he is expected to take up the assignment shortly. After the India’s Nepal Ambassdor Vinaya Mohan Quatra had been promoted as foreign secretary, the ambassadorial position was lying vacant. The newly appointed ambassador has been considered as China’s expert and has served to China and Cambodia. Until recently, he was heading the MEA’s East India Desk.
