RSS (24 May 2022) – Indian Charge d’ affaires for Nepal Namgya C. Khampa has expressed Indian government readiness to collaborate for the prosperity of Gandaki province.
In a meeting with Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Pokharel at latter’s office on Tuesday, he noted that Indian government has been providing assistance in the areas of road, tourism infrastructure and transport within the province.
“We could further expand and explore the areas for collaboration if comprehensive information were received on the prospective plans and projects”, Khampa added. The Charge d’ affaires had come to Pokhara in course of monitoring and inaugurating the plans and projects being operated in Kaski and Mustang through Indian Embassy. On the occasion, CM Pokharel stressed the need to expand collaboration of the province and the country with the Indian government.
Especially, Pokharel expressed readiness to collaborate with Indian government through federal government of Nepal in the construction of 8-km-long tunnel way on Dumkibas-Triveni road section along the Korala-Triveni road that connects China in the north and India in the south. Recalling the commitment of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Nepal visit for the up-gradation of Tanahun-based Girija Prasad Koirala Respiratory Centre, CM Pokharel expected Indian aid in running a medical college in the centre.
It may be noted that a total of 52 plans are being operated in Gandaki province through Indian Embassy. Also present on the occasion were Province Finance Minster Ramjee Prasad Baral, Communications and Province Assembly Minister Bindu Kumar Thapa and Province Chief Secretary Rabilal Pantha, among others
