Jackie Chan distributes relief items to quake victims



Kathmandu, Jun 9 (Press Trust of India) Hollywood action hero Jackie Chan today distributed relief materials to earthquake victims in Nepal.

The Hollywood star visited Lalitpur district near Kathmandu where he distributed relief materials to earthquake victims who were physically-disabled at a programme organised by Nepal Red Cross Society.

China’s ambassador to Nepal Wu Chuntai was also present on the occasion.

The action hero, who is also the founder of Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation in Beijing, arrived in Kathmandu today along with the representatives from Red Cross Society of China.

The relief materials include 5,000 sets of non-food kits.

“I thank you all for providing me this opportunity and extending help,” Jackie said after visiting the Nepal Red Cross Society’s head office here.

He also inspected the emergency room established for coordinating relief activities in the aftermath of the April 25 earthquake that killed nearly 9,000 people in Nepal.
