Japan donates ambulance vehicles to Nepal Red Cross Society



02KATHMANDU, Dec. 2 (Nepal Foreign Affairs)–The Government of Japan has donated four ambulance vehicles to the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS), on Friday.

Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa handed over the keys of the ambulances to  Gulmi, Pyuthan, Morang and Udayapur districts chapter leaders of Nepal Red Cross.

Chairman of NRCS Sanjeev Thapa, Secretary General  Dev Ratna Dhakhwa and other office bearers and key staff were present in the handover ceremony organized at the central office of Nepal Red Cross Society in Kathmandu.

The ambassador shared that the ambulances were provided to Nepal to help render effective healthcare services to the people in rural areas.

Chairman Thapa and Secretary-General Dev Ratna Dhakhwa extended their gratitude to the Government of Japan, Japan Red Cross Society and people of Japan for continued humanitarian assistance to Nepal in the sectors of drinking water and sanitation, among others for over three decades.

Nepal Red Cross Society has been providing ambulance services in a total of 205 places across 67 districts of the country.
