Japan invites Ex-Crown Princess Himani as special guest to observe Emperor’s Birthday



12025780737251456040KATHMANDU, Dec. 2 (Nepal Foreign Affairs)–Embassy of Japan in Nepal hosted a reception on Friday to observe auspicious 83rd birthday of Japanese Emperor Akihito, where former Crown Princess Himani Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah was invited as the special guest.

Masashi Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal hosted the reception to celebrate the 83 rd auspicious Birthday of the Emperor Akihito at his official Residence, Tahachal in Kathmandu.

According to sources, the former royal was invited as the chairman of the Himani Trust.

Japan has been extending financial assistance to many post-earthquake reconstruction projects launched by the Trust, the source added.

Nearly four hundred of VVIP and VIP guests including Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun as a chief guest, Parliament Speaker Onsari Gharti, Ministers, Ambassadors and Heads of International Organizations in Nepal, members of the Legislature Parliament, high ranking government officials attended the reception, the Japanese embassy stated in a press release.

In Japan, the Emperor is the symbol of the State and of the unity of the people. The day of the Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor Akihito, December 23, is also celebrated as the National Day of Japan.
