KATHMANDU- On Monday, Nepal’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, held a significant meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar in New Delhi. The discussion centered around various facets of Nepal-India relations, with a particular focus on bolstering bilateral interests and mutual cooperation.
Following the meeting, Dr. Rana Deuba shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “Had a productive meeting with @DrSJaishankar in New Delhi. We discussed bilateral interests, various aspects of Nepal-India relations, and the exchange of mutual cooperation. I am confident this visit will further strengthen the centuries-old bond between Nepal and India.”
Dr. Rana Deuba’s visit to India, which commenced on Sunday, August 18, comes at the invitation of Minister Jaishankar. Scheduled to last until August 22, the visit underscores the longstanding and deeply rooted relationship between Nepal and India, which has seen both cooperation and challenges over the years. The two countries share not only a border but also historical, cultural, and economic ties that have evolved over centuries.
