Myanmar announces 125 more elected parliament representatives



NAY PYI TAW, Nov. 10 (Xinhua)– Myanmar’s Union Election Commission (UEC) announced 125 more elected parliament representatives to the House of Representatives and regional or state parliament as part of the second day election result on Tuesday.

Of the 34 elected representatives in the House of Representatives, the opposition National League for Democracy (NLD) dominates with 29, while the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) takes two. The Shan Nationalities Democracy Federation (SNDF) shares two and Zomi Congress for Democracy (ZCD) one.

Of the 58 parliament representatives elected in the regional or state parliament, NLD occupies 46, while USDP seven. SNDP takes four and ZCD one.

Of the 33 parliament representatives elected in the House of Naionalities, NLD dominates 29, while USDP shares two and the remaining two go to an independent party and an ethnic party each.

By far, the NLD has secured a total of 249 seats in three levels of the parliament including 49 in the House of Representatives, 29 in the House of Nationalities and 142 in the regional or state parliament.

The commission has announced a total of 285 elected parliament representatives since Monday, of whom 88 go to the House of Representatives, 33 to the House of Nationalities and 164 to the regional or state parliament.
