Nepal Covid-19 Update : 776 New Infections, Six Fatalities In Last 24 Hours



NFA (KATHMANDU, 17 December 2020) – The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Thursday confirmed 776 new cases of COVID-19, taking the national tally to 251,692.

“In 6,588 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, a total of 776 persons, 308 females and 468 males, were found with the novel coronavirus infection,” informed the MoHP in its daily update.

Currently, there are 9,580 active cases of COVID-19. Likewise, 444 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad are stationed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, a total of 947 persons either staying in home isolation or receiving treatment in various health facilities recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Nepal has spiked to 240,363.

Moreover, six people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 1,749.
