Nepal to extend an assistance to flood-hit Sri Lanka


timthumbKATHMANDU, May 20 (Nepal Foreign Affairs)–Nepal has expressed its deep sorrow on the loss of human lives and property in Sri Lanka due to the recent occurrence of heavy rainfall, flood and landslide.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday “At this hour of tragic loss, the Government of Nepal stands firmly with the people and Government of Sri Lanka.”

As a token of its solidarity, a Cabinet meeting today decided to extend an assistance of US Dollar One Hundred Thousand (US$ 1,00,000.00) for the relief operation.
