KABUL, July 29 (Xinhua) — A greenhouse to preserve fruit products has been constructed with the financial support of Nepal in Paghman, a district of Afghanistan’s Kabul, the Ministry for Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock said on Saturday.
With a capacity of 60 tons of fresh fruits, the greenhouse was built at a cost of 36,000 U.S. dollars provided by Nepal within the framework of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
The Afghan Ministry of Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock has so far built more than 2,800 greenhouses across the country to keep fresh vegetable and fruit products and would construct more greenhouses in the future to enable farmers preserve their products.
