Cabinet recommends ambassadors to 13 countries, including India, China and US (See the list)

KATHMANDU- The government has recommended ambassadors to 13 countries, including India, China and the United States. A Cabinet meeting held on Friday under the leadership of Prime Minister Balendra Shah recommended the appointments.

Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal said the government selected individuals from various professional backgrounds for the ambassadorial positions. The nominees will now be sent to the Parliamentary Hearing Committee for a hearing. Following parliamentary approval, the government will seek agrément from the respective countries. Once agrément is received, the President will formally appoint them as ambassadors.

  2. Dr Kalyan Raj Sharma — China
  3. Chiran Jung Thapa — United States
  4. Gaurav SJB Rana (Retd.), former Chief of Army Staff — United Kingdom
  5. Jigyan Kumar Thapa — Japan
  6. Suresh Kumar Karn — Israel
  7. Prapti Sherchan — Spain
  8. Sharu Joshi — Germany
  9. Dr Padmakshi Rana — Oman
  10. Chudamani Kharel — Malaysia
  11. Prof. Dr Sangam Shrestha — South Korea
  12. Dr Manchala Jha — Sri Lanka
  13. Giri Bahadur Sunar — Saudi Arabia
