KATHMANDU, April 23 (Xinhua) — Nepalese Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) Rajendra Chhetri will be visiting the United States from April 24 to May 5 at the invitation of U.S. Army, the army headquarters said here on Friday.
During the visit, CoAS Chhetri is scheduled to hold meetings with high-ranking officials of the U.S Army and United Nations, the army headquarters said.
Leading a five-member delegation, the Nepalese army chief will be visiting the United States for the first time after assuming office in August last year.
The army headquarters said in a press statement that the visit is aimed at strengthening friendly ties between the U.S. Army and the Nepalese Army.
During the visit, Chhetrri will visit the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth in Kansas city and U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barrack in Pennsylvania to take part in the International Fellows Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (IHOF).
