Nepal’s COVID-19 Update: 2,440 New Cases, 1,133 Recoveries, Tally Stands At 89,263



NFA (KATHMANDU, 5 October 2020) – The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Monday confirmed 2,440 new cases of COVID-19.

In 13,781 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, as many as 2,440 persons were found with the novel coronavirus infection, informed Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at the MoHP in the daily press briefing today.

Meanwhile, some 1,133 COVID-19 patients staying at home isolation or receiving treatment at various institutional isolations across the nation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate now stands at 73 per cent.

Currently, there are 23,507 active cases of COVID-19 of which, 11,191 patients are in institutional isolation and 12,316 are in home isolation. Some 4,033 persons, mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Of the active patients, 244 are admitted to the ICU and 43 are receiving treatment with the ventilator facility.

With this, the national COVID-19 tally has reached 89,263 including 65,202 cases of recovery and 554 death cases.
