Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 19 December 2017) – CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that the construction work on the much-talked railway line connecting Nepal and China would be expedited.
Speaking at a program in Rasuwa on Tuesday, Oli said the proposed railway line stretching from Kerung to Lumbini via Rasuwagadhi will be expedited in near future. The to-be-formed government will carry out this work in coordination with northern neighbor.
Chairman Oli on Tuesday had a surprise visit to Rasuwagadhi, observed the border point and held interaction with local administration. He is one who had initiated the preliminary work for joining China’s rail to Nepal.
In an interaction organized by UML Timure Village Committee, Oli stressed the need to promote tourism, build hydro power manage Rasuwagadhi checkpoint for the development of Rasuwa district.
Oli, during the visit, is accompanied by 18 UML leaders including General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel, Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Paudel, Standing Committee Member Subash Nembang and Shankar Pokharel. Similarly, UML Rasuwa District Party Chairman Karnel Lama, former lawmaker Janardan Dhakal and Gosaikunda Rural Municipality Deputy Chief Kargyalmo Shrestha participated in the program. The team who came to Rasuwa in four choppers of Manang Air, Fishtail Air and Altitude Air, had inspected tourism area Langtang and Rasuwagadhi.
UML candidate Dhakal had been defeated in the election of lower house of parliament. Oli consoled him during the visit.
