One Million Covishield Vaccines Arrive In Kathmandu From India



NFA (KATHMANDU, 21 February 2021) – One million doses of India-made Covishield vaccines have been arrived in Kathmandu from India today.

Vaccines were arrived at TIA today afternoon via Air India flight of New Delhi to Kathmandu, 1:30 PM. According to Ministry of Health and Population vaccines will be stored at Teku. Those vaccines would be inoculated people that are scheduled to vaccinate from February 23.

According to the Ministry, with the new lot of vaccines, the government will launch the second phase of vaccination drive on March 7 to inoculate people above 55 years of age. Nepal launched its vaccination drive on January 27 with the one million doses of vaccine the government had received on January 21 from India under grant assistance.
