KATHMANDU (31 October 2018) – Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Mazhar Javed has said that the government and people of Pakistan are grateful to Nepal for its support and cooperation in difficult times.
He expressed this view while addressing a talk programme on ‘Jammu and Kashmir Dispute and Recent Escalation in HR Violations’ held at the Embassy of Pakistan here today.
Ambassador Javed said that the ties between the two countries were strong not only at the governmental level but also at the people’s level.
“Both Pakistan and Nepal have adopted the policy of non-interference in each other’s internal affairs,” he said.
The Pakistani ambassador reiterated that the Jammu-Kashmir dispute should be resolved by means of a referendum as per the resolution of the United Nations.
Political analyst Dr Shastra Dutt Pant stressed the need of all the member countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) to prod the United Nations together for resolving the Jammu-Kashmir dispute as it was a matter of concern for them also.
Journalist Rajan Singh Karki suggested India to play the role of a good neighbor and said the Kashmiri people should be given the right to decide on the solution to the Kashmir problem.
