KATHMANDU. Oct. 29 (Xinhua) — Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on Saturday, appointed Mr. Leela Mani Paudyal as the country’s next ambassador to China, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.
Mr. Paudyal had served as Nepal’s Consul General for Tibet Autonomous Region of China from November 2003 to July 2007.
Then he went on to become the chief secretary of the Nepal government for three years from 7 August 2012.
The ambassador, an expert on Nepal-China relations, is expected to take up his assignment in Beijing shortly.
Meanwhile, the Nepali President appointed Deep Kumar Upadhyay as the country’s ambassador to India.
