PM Dahal lauds Nepali Army’s contribution to promotion of national interest



BHAKTAPUR – Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the Nepali Army has made a significant contribution to the protection of national interests and welfare.

In his address to the Commissioning of Parade of Officer Cadet Course organized at the Military Academy in Kharipati today, the Prime Minister highlighted the roles of the NA in disaster management, ecological conservation, and development endeavors to the promotion of national interests and “The NA has a great contribution to attaining global recognition for Nepal as the country of world peacekeepers,” the Prime Minister said, adding the Nepal armies have contributed significantly to the establishment of world peace as the peacekeepers in the crisis-hit countries in the world.

“We have recognized the first rank achieved by Nepal in November 2022 in terms of sending the peacekeepers to the efforts to establish world peace,” he said. Describing a multi-dimensional conflict, climate change consequences, and various pandemics as severe security challenges to Nepal, he said the NA is doing its roles to assess potential challenges for the nation and Nepali citizens and address them effectively.

So far 24 foreigners have attended the course. On the occasion, Dipendra Kadayat, Dipa Ghimire, Bibek Adhikari, Minish Khadka, and Sepur Rahman from Bangladesh were honored for their outstanding performances. Minister for Defense, Hari Prasad Upreti and Chief of Army Staff, Prabhuram Sharma, were also present on the occasion.
