Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHMANDU, 7 April 2020) – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to express concern regarding the safety and treatment of Nepalis in the UAE.
The PM telephoned Crown Prince Zayad Al Nahyan in connection with establishing contacts with the heads of government or representatives and inquiring about the condition of Nepalis abroad at a time when coronavirus has spread globally, said Surya Thapa, the press advisor to the Prime Minister.
In a telephonic conversion with the UAE Crown Prince on Monday evening, PM Oli expressed concern on the condition of Nepalis in the Emirates. The Crown Prince said that Nepalis were sincere and hard working people, and also appreciated their contribution to the economic development of UAE.
Nepali ambassador to UAE, Krishna Prasad Dhakal said the UAE Crown Prince has expressed commitment that the Nepalis in UAE would be treated and helped at a par with the citizens of his country. “We express our gratitude to PM Oli for providing parental love and protection by according high importance to welfare and safety of Nepalis in the UAE, and to the UAE Crown Prince for committing to treat and provide support to the Nepalis as is provided to the UAE citizens, in this special time,” Ambassador Dhakal has shared in the social site.
The Government of Nepal has also stated that foreign nationals in Nepal would be provided treatment facilities as its citizens are provided in case of coronavirus infection.
