KATHMANDU- A meeting of the CPN (UML) today concluded that Prime Minister and party Chairperson KP Sharma Oli’s recent visit to the United States of America remained productive.
According to UML General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, the Prime Minister and party Chair engaged in official and unofficial talks with the heads of state and government from friendly nations during the visit, contributing to burnishing the country’s image internationally.
The Prime Minister returned home on Monday after attending the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA, September 24-30) that was held at the UN Headquarters in New York of the United States of America. The event was organised with the theme of “Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development, and human dignity for present and future generations”.
The meeting also decided to deposit Rs 5 million on behalf of the party in the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund, agreeing to request the House of Representatives (HoR) and Province Assembly members from the party to contribute to the Fund.
The party has decided to engage it in the relief and rescue efforts in the aftermath of the disasters including in the restoration of the roadways connecting Kathmandu to outside districts. It also decided to collect the details of agricultural losses from the recent disasters from the party level as well, Pokhrel said.(RSS)
