NFA (KATHMANDU, 8 December 2021) – President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged all to protect the country from disasters.
While addressing an international conference related to the reconstruction of Nepal organised by the National Reconstruction Authority that kicked off in Kathmandu from Wednesday, she said so.
The conference was inaugurated by President Bhandari.
The programme, which was organised to share experiences of the reconstruction and rehabilitation after the devastating earthquake of April 25, 2015, was presided over by Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Khadka.
Indian, Chinese and US ambassadors to Nepal among others were also present in the conference.
On the occasion, President Bhandari also thanked all the countries for their assistance in reconstruction and rehabilitation.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Construction Authority Sushil Gyawali said that the international conference was organised to share experiences to the national and international communities Nepal had gained in the reconstruction and rehabilitation after the earthquake with the help of everyone.
Earlier on June 25, 2015, Nepal had organised an international conference at Hotel Soaltee to raise funds for the rebuilding of the quake ravaged country, two months after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the nation.
During the conference, the donor countries had pledged USD 4.4 billion in aid for the recovery bid of Nepal. Of the total amount, donors had pledged USD 2.2 in grant while the remaining USD 2.2 in loan.
