Prez, PM, FM send condolences on sinking of cruise in Yangtze River in China

President Dr. Ram BaranYadav sent his condolence message to the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping today for the loss of lives of several people and many other missing by capsizing a cruise ship in the Yangtze river in Hubei Province of China.

 

In his message, President Yadav expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of those who have lost their loved ones, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

 

Similarly, Prime Minister SushilKoirala and Foreign Minister Mahendra Bahadur Pandey also sent separate letters of condolences to their counterparts on the disaster occurred on 01 June 2015 due to sudden and strong storm.

 

In his message to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Prime Minister Koirala expressed his deep shock and sadness on sinking of the ship that claimed several precious lives with hundreds reported missing.

“Our deep thoughts and prayers are with the passengers on board for their safety”, he mentioned.

 

Foreign Minister Pandey also expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, and through him to the victims and the bereaved families as well as to the Government and the people of the People’s Republic of China. He further stated that the Government and people of Nepal stand together with the Government and people of China in these tragic circumstances.
