US Assistant Secretary Lu meets PM Deuba, holds talk with Foreign Minister



Nepal Foreign Affairs (KATHANDU, 29 July 2022) – Visiting US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lu, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday. During the meeting held at PM’s residence, Baluwatar, views on friendly and cooperative Nepal-USA relations were exchanged, said the Foreign Ministry, adding that PM Deuba thanked the US for its continued development cooperation and said he looked forward to a higher level of economic engagements.

Earlier, Assistant Secretary of State Lu met with Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka. Khadka and Lu, held a meeting today. During the meeting , they discussed various areas of engagements including development cooperation, economic support, food security, and COVID-19 vaccines, according to the Ministry.

Assistant Secretary of State Lu, who arrived here on Thursday evening, had also talks with different professionals, civic and government leadership on the issues including various dimensions of a 75-year-long Nepal-US friendly relations, it is said.
