KATHMANDU – US Chargé d’Affaires to Nepal Megan Boldin paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister in Singha Durbar today.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shah emphasised the need to further strengthen global cooperation and collective efforts to reduce climate-induced disasters and address their impacts.
Discussing Nepal’s tourism potential and opportunities for mutual benefit through its development, Prime Minister Shah urged the US official to encourage increased US investment in Nepal, according to the Prime Minister’s Press and Research Expert, Dipa Dahal.
Prime Minister Shah expressed gratitude for US support to Nepal during difficult circumstances following the Bhotekoshi flood. He also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives, noting that foreign nationals were also affected by the disaster.
Chargé d’Affaires Boldin expressed condolences over the loss of lives and property caused by the flood and conveyed the solidarity of the US government with the Government of Nepal and the Nepali people during this difficult time.
She said the US government was ready to support Nepal’s relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
